Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh beat their Korean counterparts 16-10 in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed team event on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the skills and teamwork of Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh after the duo secured India's second medal at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh beat their Korean counterparts 16-10 in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed team event.

 

"Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the bronze medal in the 10 m Air Pistol mixed team event at the Olympics. Both of them have shown great skills and teamwork. India is incredibly delighted," PM Modi tweeted.

The feat brought India its second shooting medal in the Olympics, following Manu Bhaker's bronze in the women's 10m air pistol event. With Tuesday's win, Manu Bhaker scripted history by becoming the only athlete from the country to claim two medals in a single event.

The feat did not go unnoticed. "For Manu, this is her second consecutive Olympic medal, showcasing her consistent excellence and dedication," PM Modi said.

Reacting to his daughter's second medal win, Manu's father Ramkrishna Bhaker said, "I am very happy. This is big news for the whole country. I thank the countrymen for giving their love and blessings to Manu and also helping her in tough times."
